Posted in College And Universites at August 19th, 2006 /

Concord Law School is an endeavor by Kaplan Higher Education to harness the power of the internet for providing quality schooling in law. Concord Law School makes use of the latest tools in online communication for providing a thorough grounding in law; in fact it is the first college to offer a Juris Doctor (JD) degree online.

The university has managed to find the right balance between putting across information in a theoretical as well as a highly practical manner. At Concord, students learn the importance of the role that law plays in a society as well as how lawyers are expected to function in a legal system. Concord opened in the fall of 1998 and today has more than 1800 students learning law. The typical profile of the students includes mid-career professionals and family caretakers.

The average GPA score of the students is around 3.0 and quite a few are alumni of colleges such as Columbia, Harvard, and Yale. Students from all over the United States have enrolled for the program and foreign students from 13 countries are also taking this course. The online law degree has attracted students from occupations that include lawyers, defense personnel, nurses, dentists and even real estate developers.
